Entertainment throughout the evening by the UK's best tribute boyband Factor X. Full buffet professionally cooked and prepared on the premises. From the A127 take the A176 turn off sign posted Billericay. Proceed through Billericay high street heading towards Chelmsford. After leaving high street the site can be found on the right 0.9 mile after crossing the railway bridge. Entrance immediately after pelican crossing, use protected right turn lane and turn into Oak Wood Drive, proceed into school.

BOOKED MEET - Time to do your bit to help the Holiday Site Managers get ready to open up for another season's camping. Not too much hard work with lunch provided and electric hook-up. Booking required at this meet as there is a limited number of hard standings. Please contact the stewards no later than 2 weeks prior to the meet to secure your pitch for the weekend (30 units maximum). Andy & Chris have organised a small quiz for both the young & old in the marquee on Saturday evening, so there will be little time to relax after a hard days work on the field! Toilet and shower facilities are available on the site however own sanitation is advisable. Site opens early at 12:00 noon on Friday 7th March.

Notice is hereby given that the AGM of East Essex DA will be held at St. Peters High School, Southminster Road, Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex on Saturday 15th March 2008. The doors open at 2 pm with the AGM commencing at 2:30 pm. Notices of motion and nominations for offices and Committee sign by the proposer, seconder and nominee must be submitted in writing and be in the hands of the DA Secretary Mrs. Jan Davis by 1st February. Membership cards must be shown to gain entry to the meeting.
Probably the best AGM you have ever been to! Burnham-on-Crouch Village is only a short walk away with enjoyable river bank walks. You can camp for free this weekend if you have camping cards completed & signed with 10 meets prior to the AGM, please hand your camping cards to the steward on arrival. This weekend we will be camping on the very level school playing field with short grass! Lots of activities to suit a wide range of ages. Located close to Hart's Wood, Barrack Wood and Thorndon Country Park so there are no reasons why you should not dust off those walking boots for an early seasons woodland walk. Alternatively Brentwood High Street is only a short walk for those who want to do some shopping! Camping on hard standing, own sanitation essential. No arrivals on site before 5:30pm on Friday as this school will be operational until then.
From the A127 follow the A128 North bound towards Brentwood. After 3.5 miles turn left at the Shenfield common traffic lights into Severn Arches Road sign posted "Brentwood County High School". Follow the road for 250 yards past the duck pond (on your left) bear with the road to the left and then turn immediately right into school approach road sign posted "Brentwood County High School". Continue along the tree lined approach road for 75 yards and proceed into the school grounds. Follow the EEDA signs.

From A130 Rettendon roundabout junction take the A132 to South Woodham. At roundabout follow B1032 signposted Burnham-on-Crouch by-passing South Woodham Ferries. At sharp left hand bend turn right into Fambridge Road, continue over railway bridge into village, bear right with road and then left, signposted River and Ferry Boat Inn. After ¼ mile turn left into Ferry Boat Inn car park and immediately left again (this is a sharp U-turn and you may wish to give it a wide birth), follow the EEDA signs.

Bank Holiday meet
We will be camping in the grounds of an impressive manor house with breathtaking views of the river Orwell and the surrounding Suffolk countryside. We have a full program of events scheduled both during the day and evening, over the long bank holiday weekend. Many local attractions close by. Footpaths located adjacent to the site, so this location is also ideal for the walkers amongst us, with walks along the river and watching the boats from the local Woolverstone Marina. There is also proposed designated Youth Area at this meet run by our CCY leaders and their assistants. Leave the A14 at the junction marked "A137 Ipswich Central" and follow the signs for Shotley. At the bottom of Bourne Hill (dry ski slope on right) turn right and go under the Orwell Bridge. Stay on the Shotley road (B1456) until you reach the village of Woolverstone. The school is on the left hand side shortly after the turning to Woolverstone Marina, follow the EEDA signs.

From Latchingdon take left fork off mini roundabout signposted Bradwell. Continue through Steeple, pass the parish boundary sign (St Lawrence) immediately after the road bears hard left at this point go straight across into 'cut-off/lay-by' on the right hand side. Follow the private road through white wooden gates with sign 'West Newlands', up hill. Bear left in front of bungalow and pond, follow road round into farmyard. Site on right. Follow the EEDA signs.

Battle of Britain
Dress up as a Battle of Britain Ace. Pigs in blankets and homemade soup. It is an interesting place and whatever the temperature outside it is a constant 59F inside so like aircon in the summer. Please note: The bunker does not take credit cards, only cash as they operate an 'honesty' system. Own sanitation essential. Site opens early at 2pm on Friday 6th June.
From Brentwood, take A128 (Ongar Road) north towards Chipping Ongar. After 1½ miles the road bears to the right, continue on A128 passing turn off for Kelvedon Hatch Club Site to Kelvedon Hatch Village. In village turn left into Church Road at the Post Office. Follow the road for just under ½ mile and then bear right and then turn right into Kelvedon Hall Lane. Continue to follow the road for ¼ mile taking the right hand fork in lane and then turn immediately right into the lane. The site entrance will be on your left in 100 yards. Follow the EEDA signs. Please note: Do not follow the brown signs to the Secret Nuclear Bunker as you will end up in the car park and not the rally field.

Some how I am sure that Pual will be able to get a fly past from a Spitfire!!!!!

Fathers Day
This must just have been a coincidence but we've just found out that this meet coincides with the Beer Festival organised by The Swan Inn, "National Pub of the Year" as voted by CAMRA . We don't want the DA getting a reputation so we'll try and move it to a different weekend next year! This site is located just over the road to the pub so it is well worth a visit or 2! More real ales and ciders than you have ever seen in one place and every one is served at it's best. Own sanitation essential.
From A12 (northbound) past Witham. Take next exit at Rivenhall End. At T-junction turn right signposted Tiptree & Gt Braxted. Visit the large accessory shop just yards up the road. Fishing available adjacent to site at extra cost. The Caravan Park toilets and shower facilities will be strictly out of bounds to members attending this meet, therefore your own sanitation is essential. Any members or member's children found in breach of this condition will be immediately asked to leave the rally. The Clacton Shopping Village is only a short drive from the site with 48 shops, over 1000 free parking spaces and discounts up to 60% on famous brand names. The seaside towns of Clacton-on-sea, Frinton-on-sea and Walton-on-the-naze are also only a short drive/bus ride from the site and are well worth a visit.

From Danbury take Little Baddow Road, signposted Little Baddow. After 2 miles turn right into Tofts Chase and left after ¾ mile into Bassetts Farm.

Booked meet
Enjoy a relaxing swim in the heated pool, play golf or walk to the beach. Fishing available on site at extra cost. Site fee includes the electric and water hook-up charge. Booking essential at this meet due to its popularity and a limited number of pitches allocated to us at this site. Please send a £5.00 deposit (made payable to EEDA) to the steward no later than 2 weeks prior to the meet to secure your pitch for the weekend. Please include your name, address, phone number, membership number, type and size of unit with your booking. Toilet and shower facilities are available on the site however own sanitation is advisable.

From Colchester take B1025 towards Mersea Island. Take left fork on far side of causeway, signposted East Mersea. Turn right after ¾ mile following the site signs. When you arrive at the site please proceed past the rally field (located on your right) and follow signs to reception. Register at reception and they will allow you through the barrier, proceed following the EEDA signs to the rally field and report to the steward prior to pitching your unit. Directions also available in "Your Big Sites Book", YBSB No. 168 071.
Please note: Occasionally 'The Strood' (an artificial causeway about half a mile long connecting Mersea Island to the main land) will become flooded by the rising tide restricting access to and from the Island. Please check the tide times prior to traveling to plan your arrival and departure times around the local tidal conditions.

Barn Dance
East Essex DA is pleased to announce that they have arranged a Barn Dance Social on Saturday evening. Tickets are £2.50 per head (under 12's are free) and can be obtained on the door or from the East Essex Ticket Hotline, contact details below. Nibbles will be provided on every table so just bring along your drinks and dancing boots for a great nights entertainment with our professional caller Harry "the Heater" Cowley. Come and strip the willow and dozy doe your partners (whatever all that means!). Castleview School has plenty of camping space so there is no need to book - just turn up. Valentine's Ball
We are fortunate to have a tribute to “Robbie Williams” and “Kylie” with us this year and what a night we are in for! "Millennium", is the number 1 Robbie Williams tribute show in the UK and has an excellent write up, appearing at many events such as Old Trafford at the rugby final in 2004 with an audience of 65,000 people! He has also appeared on TV and has a great client list such as BT, IBM, Body Shop and many more! "Kylie Fever Show Girl" will also be performing, she also has an excellent write up, appearing on the National Lottery and won the "Sony tribute of the year" award. Kylie Fever has a great client list such as Reebok, Leicester racecourse, Nailcote Hall and many more! Kylie will be accompanied by 2 dancers.


Tickets are priced as follows: Adult £18.50, Child 12 yrs+ £6, Child under 12's £3. Your ticket price will include a superb professional buffet which is freshly prepared on site! Dress code is “smart dress” for men, women and children. So it’s time to look glam, put on those trousers, suits, dinner suits, dresses anything smart but no trainers, t-shirts or jeans. After leaving high street the site can be found on the right 0.9 mile after crossing the railway bridge. Entrance immediately after pelican crossing, use protected right turn lane and turn into Oak Wood Drive, proceed into school.

Located close to Hart's Wood, Barrack Wood and Thorndon Country Park so there are no reasons why you should not dust off those walking boots for an early seasons woodland walk. Alternatively Brentwood High Street is only a short walk for those who want to do some shopping! Camping on hard standing, own sanitation essential. No arrivals on site before 5:30pm on Friday as this school will be operational until then.
From the A127 follow the A128 North bound towards Brentwood. After 3.5 miles turn left at the Shenfield common traffic lights into Severn Arches Road sign posted "Brentwood County High School". Follow the road for 250 yards past the duck pond (on your left) bear with the road to the left and then turn immediately right into school approach road sign posted "Brentwood County High School". Continue along the tree lined approach road for 75 yards and proceed into the school grounds. Follow the EEDA signs.
