Get Involved – Ever Wondered How Your DA is Run?
EEDA (like all DA's and Sections) is run by members for members. Behind the scenes there's always lots of activity preparing and working towards making the meets and events that we put on enjoyable for all. But the meets and events are just the tip of the iceberg and there's lots more going on. So, if you're interested in finding out how your DA is run or even want to get involved in the running of your DA, then please contact one of our committee members as we're always on the look out for help. Whether it be; help on a meet or event or even joining the committee – Your DA Needs You.
Also new for 2012, we're introducing a 'PR Team' to help promote the DA and our events. Do you have skills and/or ideas in this area and think you can help?
So if you're interested – Get Involved!

Having had put our names down for stewarding this rally which is one of our favourites, I arrived in the rain on Thursday evening without wife and kids and thought what am I doing here!! But to be greeted by another 4 lonely men with beer without wives in tow things started to look better, there was also 3 other regulars who was there but did not manage to leave home alone and one new member.
Well there the weekend began, feet down, door locked, straight down the pub, Simple!! I woke up Friday morning (I can't remember the rest of Thursday evening) to more rain, I had not had a chance to set up the van so on goes the waterproofs, venture outside to begin the task of setting up. 45 minutes later all set up with canopy out, soaking wet, then the sun comes out, typical English weather again!!

This year our Halloween Meet was held at West Newlands Farm, St. Lawrence, by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Pudney. As the meet was due to open on Thursday Denis and I decided to have the half term week as part of our annual holiday, and took a short break in Bristol so that we could visit the SS Great Britain (famous ship for those of you that had not heard of it).
The weather in Bristol was beautiful, until Thursday morning when it rained as hard as it could while we packed up, we decided to get up at 6.00am so that we could be on the road early. We had left a big pile of Halloween decorations etc in the middle of the lounge floor and stopped off to collect them on the way to site.
We arrived on site at about 2.00pm and got busy putting out signs; we met Mr & Mrs Pudney for the first time and must say that they are amongst the most helpful landowners that we have come across. Pauline and Tony also arrived on Thursday; they had been busy buying the raffle prizes and tickets.
